To get to Jakobstad from Helsinki or Turku, you have to take a train to Pännäinen (and from there take a bus to Jakobstad). This is the route you'll have to look for when you buy your ticket online at the VR webpage (www.vr.fi/en).

Remember that you can save almost 50% if you buy the tickets between 60 and 50 days in advance (at least that's what we've come up with). So, for example, if you plan to travel on Friday 10th, you may buy your tickets around June 11th for 36 euros (instead of 60) for a one-way trip.

Those of you travelling by train the same day from Turku or Helsinki will arrive in Jakobstad either at 12 or 15 hrs. There is a VR bus connection from Bennäs/Pännäinen to Jakobstad/Pietarsaari that costs 3,80 euros. This gives you enough time to relax and get ready for the ceremony at 17 in the church, located in the city center. The VR bus can leave you at the city main square and from there it is about 5 minutes walking to Jugend Guest Home and Hostel Lilja. The party will be held after the ceremony at Jugendsalen, a few blocks from the church.
